It was a very good week.
I had my third and final evaluation of the year and it went very well. My principal told me that I *WILL* be employed next year (and mid-year next year I'll be at Master's Degree salary...whooeee!), and I'll get to teach second grade again, which I'm very excited about, because I *LOVE* it way more than I thought I would. I think that our school is going through some very positive changes, and I think next year will be wonderful as well. It will also be AWESOME to see how my students grow and change through third and fourth grade.
We also had conferences this week. They went well, too. Some of the families that I desperately wanted to talk to didn't show up, so I will be calling to reschedule. They don't tend to like to pick up the phone, so I hope they'll return my phone calls (but I hope they'll pick up in the first place!).
After conferences yesterday, we went out to a Mexican restaurant in town to celebrate surviving conferences. There were about fifteen of us that went, and just about everyone had margaritas (at noon...hahaha!). The food was delicious! The cook came out and brought us our food personally. He also happens to be one of my student's dad. After we'd finished eating, he came out with a tray full of batitas (blended ice cream, creme de cocoa, and Kahlua) and cheesecake, which we didn't get charged for. VERY sweet of him. I'm tempted to retain his student because I love her so much and don't want her to leave. I won't, of course, but, I'd love to.
So life is good. We'll be staying in Wyoming for at least another year or two (I'm thinking two, because then at least I'll have Wyoming retirement). I'm trying to convince Ry that we need to move to other town, but we hate moving so I don't think he'll go for it unless our landlord jacks up the rent when it's time to renew our lease. The apartment next to us rented for two hundred dollars more than we pay right now, which is a RIDICULOUS amount of money for the condition this place is in. Blah.
Anyway...YIPPEE!
