*Do you ever wish that you had a "snapshot" of the future? What would you want to see?
*I had a training for our math series today. It was ridiculous. It was the SAME darn thing we did in the fall. If I'm going to be away from my students for a day (my students do NOT do well with a sub at ALL--plus I miss them), I at least want it to be good. I can read ALL the manuals myself. I can! I kind of got thrown into it this year because my curriculum came in two days after school started, but I figured it out, and I'm going at a good pace, and my students are understanding, and they LOVE it. And they're successful for the most part. Next year I get a whole new chance to start over. Plus I'll be nearly done with the master's degree, which will be LOVELY.
*I miss my family. I get to see my sister in May. She won some sort of competition at the state level for Business Professionals of America. She comes out to Reno, Nevada, in May for the national competition. I took a personal day that Friday, and I'll fly out of Salt Lake City to Reno and spend some time with her there. I really want to see Lake Tahoe, and reconnect with some friends that moved to Reno from Las Vegas who were our Bible study leaders.
*I found out that if I get to go to Japan this summer, I can still teach summer school. Summer school is during the month of July, and the Japan trip would be in June. That would give me a couple of weeks in Minnesota and a couple of weeks to get ready for school. Not much of a "break," really, but I expect fun all around. I'd also like to take some sort of mini-trip with Ry on the motorcycle. There so many beautiful things to see here in Wyoming and Utah and Montana and such. And I don't think there's a better way to see them than on the motorcycle.
*I really like Steve Carell. He cracks me up. He's a very dynamic actor.
*My 10 year class reunion is this summer sometime. It scares me a little bit.
*A couple of weeks ago we read a story called "Officer Buckle and Gloria." It's about a police officer and his K-9. I called our local law enforcement agency, and the K-9 officer and the pooch came to our school yesterday to give a presentation to our students. It was a BLAST. He had the dog sniff out some marijuana for the students and did some other things. The officer was really good with the kids.
*I'm really looking forward to the sunshine. The nice temps the past week have brought my students out of their winter funk, and me, too! Yay for nice weather!
*Ry and I went to Wal-Mart tonight. We went because I'd been a pig all day and I needed to walk. I get at least 1000 steps when I go, if not more. So it was a nice little workout (not enough to counteract my day of gluttony, however--my sugar was 160. I *LOVE* chocolate, darn it!).
