Just wanted to let you know what was going on in our household.
I'm officially down 11 pounds. Not a WHOLE lot, but enough to feel a difference in the way clothes fit. Most of the weight is coming off the lower part of my body--rear, legs, etc. I'm waiting for my gut to start to shrink. That would be lovely, but I guess I don't have much choice in the matter. My sugars have still been high...too much chocolate availability. If they're still not down by the time I go back next time, she's going to put me on a higher dosage of my medication. Ugh....chocolate. They are STILL better than they have been, though, so that's good.
I finish up another one of my graduate courses today. Things are trucking along there, and I have less than a year to go. While my GPA isn't nearly as good as dharma's, it's okay. As long as I have that degree in my hand at the end of it, life will be good.
School is going well, too. I can't wait to come back after the holiday break and have a fresh start. The school resource officer had to come haul one of my students out this week, so that was interesting. The student came back the next day and apologized, and did well on Thursday. I think my students are learning alot, and I can't wait to see their test results after the first week back.
I fly home to Minnesota on Wednesday. My sister is going to the airport to pick me up. We thought ziggy would have to work, so he's not coming, which is unfortunate because it turns out he DOESN'T have to work. He could have had several days in Minnesota to see his family. Hopefully I'll at least get to see his mom while I'm in Minnesota, and also some good college friends. I think we've got a date in Brainerd one of the days this next week.
So...I suppose that's about it. There's not a whole lot else going on. I'm trying to convince my husband that we need to move to the town where my school is. One of the other teachers is moving in May, and their townhome is $300 less for rent and we'd save probably $100 or more a month on fuel costs as well. It would mean that in the winter HE has to drive back and forth 20 miles total to work each day, so that kind of blows, but no matter where we live, one of us is going to have to drive. We just seriously need to save some money and get some things paid off. I start tutoring after school in January, so hopefully that will help a little bit, too.
Have a Merry Christmas, JU friends, and a blessed New Year. Thank you to all of you for sending cards. It's been fun to check the mailbox and see your greetings!
