Just the daily (or...sometimes daily) rantings of ME!
It's 10 pm Mountain time...11 pm Central time. I just got off the phone with my cousin Ann. She was Bill's big sister--my cousin who died a year ago this weekend. They're having their ga-rage party in honor of him tonight. All of Bill's friends are there and many of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. I have to "puff out my chest" a little. Bill loved bonfires and parties and stuff...so as we gathered last year, I suggested we all get together at his house and build a fire and have a party in the garage that he had just finished "finishing," and hadn't had a chance to hold his own party. So we did. After his viewing at the funeral home, we drove past the place where he died out to his house, built a huge fire, and reminisced. I hope that they party all night. I miss him so much...I wish I could be there with them...

My husband is out of state for the next couple of weeks getting his CDL. It's only been a couple of days, but I'm lonely, and bored. It's nice just knowing he's HERE, even if we're in separate rooms, doing other things.

When Ry left he drove his car to the bus stop. Last night I walked to the bus stop to get his car and bring it back here. It started sprinkling on the way there. There's road construction on a bridge over the sidewalk where I was. I hadn't noticed earlier in the day which side of the road was open to pedestrian traffic, so I took the one where I wouldn't have to cross the busy street. Unfortunately, it was the "wrong" one. There were cement blockades between the sidewalk and the street, and on the other side of the sidewalk was mud, and lots of it, so through I went. Unfortunately, the puddles were deep enough that they went up and over my ankles, so I had to walk the last mile with squishy shoes and frozen, wet feet. By the time I got to the bus stop and wandered around a little, it was pouring. I finally found the car and got in, and practically drove blind back here to the apartment. The headlights must be misaligned or something, because I could hardly see anything through the crappy windsheild and no lights.

At any rate, I got a two mile walk in....so that was good.

(Did I mention I almost got run over in a crosswalk by a huge black man in a little Chrysler? My nearest death experience to date...blech!)

Today I went tooling around town (okay...so our one mall), looking for new shoes (I don't think there's any hope for the old ones after the fiasco last night). After finding none, I went to the library and got a ton of books to read. I'm so excited! All the libraries in the state of Wyoming (I don't know if this is a national thing or not...) are reading "My Antonia" by Willa Cather. I got one of the "Catch and Release" copies--I read it and pass it on to someone else to read. It's wonderful so far...I'd highly reccommend it.
